Why Magdalene?

Magdalene reminds us of a journey of redemption, strength, faith, and hope.

Here you will find strength on your journey.

Is this Christian counseling?

I am a Christian and am happy to talk to clients about spirituality if they would like to. However, this is a safe place for believers and non-believers alike.

I am sensitive to the fact that many people seeking counseling have had religious trauma. I am an affirming Christian. I know there is a lot of pain that has been felt at the hands of the church. I never want to add to that pain. If clients would like to process that pain, I will validate their experiences.

Brandy Roberson, M.S., LPC

Brandy Roberson received her B.A. in Sociology with a minor in Psychology, from the University of Oklahoma, in 1994. She obtained her Texas teaching certification and taught middle and high school. This passion for helping people motivated Brandy to obtain her M.S. in Counseling from Texas A&M University Corpus Christi in 2005.

Brandy began her counseling career, working with victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, at the Women’s Shelter of South Texas. In 2015 she became a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and became a part of the counseling team at C2Counseling in Corpus Christi.

In 2019, Brandy’s dream of opening Magdalene Counseling Services became a reality. Working to help adolescents and adults find mental wellness is her top priority. She is also passionate about advocating for victims of human trafficking. Brandy is a past board member and Vice-President of the Coastal Bend Coalition against Modern Day Slavery.

Brandy’s practice is rooted in the belief that we all go through trials in our lives. With the assistance of a trained, professional, compassionate counselor, trials can be overcome. Better yet, they become lessons that make us stronger, wiser, and more resilient.
